Today the school received a visit from members of Óglaigh na hÉireann who presented the school with a new Irish Tricolour and a copy of the 1916 Proclamation. The whole school attended the ceremony where the Redwood Class presented a timeline of the events of 1916 and the Student Council accepted both items.
P.E.T.N.S. is hosting a P.J. Day on Friday 25th September. Everyone (including teachers) are invited to wear their P.J.'s to school and make a contribution of €2 to our fundraising for GOALs work in Syria. Today we reminded all the classes about this event and tomorrow the Student Council will collect all the money. Elections for the 2015-2016 Student Council will take place on Friday 18th September 2015
Children have been invited to start their Student Council Campaigns. Candidates are encouraged to make campaign posters to put around the school. They will be invited to talk to different classes. On Friday 18th of September they will give their campaign speech during assembly. If you wish to run for student council elections please let your class teacher know as soon as possible! Thank you to members of the 2014-2015 Student Council who visited all the classrooms to launch the election and to explain to new pupils what the role of the Student Council is in PETNS.
